The Nelson/Tasman Branch of IYTA is hosting a gathering in Nelson in January 2020 to celebrate 50 years of IYTA Yoga in New Zealand.
​
The Convention will be held at Nelson Boys College, Nelson, from 7 pm Wed 22nd Jan to 5 pm Fri 24 Jan.
​
There is an option to stay on over the weekend to attend the Nelson Evolve Festival.
​

Nelson has a strong yoga community. In 2020 Chai and Bex Deva from Studio Evolve are organising the
Evolve Festival, offering Yoga, Healing Arts, Product and Practitioner Stalls, Conscious Food, Camping, Zero Waste, Workshops & Music. Click here for more information.

Evolve Festival runs from Fri 24th Jan to Sun 26th Jan.
On Friday 24th Jan at 7 pm the opening havan and evening program will be held.
​
Food is available at the festival at your own expense. Other food options are also available in Nelson.
​
Transport to and from Evolve Festival is at your own expense. It is a short taxi ride or carpooling can be discussed and arranged at the Gathering.

Full program of IYTA and guest presenters
Breakfast, lunch, etc. Official closing at 5 pm.

Accommodation information
Food catering onsite is vegetarian. The College chef has custom-designed a menu for our group. Efforts have been made for seasonal and organic, as available, with minimal packaging, waste or compost.
​
Rutherford House will be the accommodation heart, with coffee/tea, Wed evening meal and the program to be held there. Other main meals and gathering on Thurs and Friday evenings will be at the Main Hall within a short walking distance. Access between the accommodation and main hall is flat.
​
There is an outdoor swimming pool available for use.
​
The Nelson Boys College accommodation and bathroom facilities have been recently renovated. All accommodation options include shared bathrooms. Gender will be considered for room allocation and bathroom use. Towels and sheets are provided.
​
Cubicles are separated by a hinged door, open at the top. Shared accommodation means being mindful of noise. Once in your room, observing silence will be necessary. If you want to continue socialising, please use Rutherford House or outside spaces.
